Electronic Publications

Many of our publications are now offered in electronic formats, for reading on a variety of devices and for download and printing. For some, we offer a choice of licenses - suitable for personal or professional use. This page explains what publications are available, what you need to access them, and our licensing conditions.

Electronic publications currently available include ebook editions of our Down Syndrome Issues and Information books and download editions of our communication, speech and language checklists. We also offer add-ons for selected iPad/iPod apps.

Our electronic publications are compatible with most devices and offer the convenience of offline reading and portability. Many are available in formats that permit printing hard copies.

Ebooks and checklists

Currently, we offer ebooks and checklist download editions in PDF format. PDF files are compatible with a wide variety of computer platforms, tablet devices and smartphones. We are exploring other formats - please let us know if you have a particular preference.

PDF files can be read and printed on all major computer operating systems using a reader application that is freely available from Adobe (version 7.0 or higher). PDF files can also be viewed on iPads and many other tablet and smartphone devices.

You can check compatibility by downloading a sample file from our product pages and testing on your device.

Add-ons for selected iPad/iPod apps

We also offer vocabulary and grammar resources for the Special Words and Special Stories apps, developed by Special iApps. To access these, you must first purchase the two apps from the Apple App Store. For further information about installing these add-ons, please refer to our instructions.

Downloads

To purchase electronic publications or app add-ons, add the digital products that you require to your basket as you would with any other product. Please be sure to select the correct item - many of our products are available in both print and electronic editions.

You can order ebooks and physical products on the same order, if you wish. If you only have digital products in your basket, a no-charge shipping option will be available when you check out.

Shortly after completing payment for an order containing digital products, you will receive an email with a personal link to web page from where you can download the items you have ordered.

You are permitted to download ebooks up to 3 times within 5 days of placing the order. After this time, the personal link will no longer be valid. If you wish to copy the files to more than three personal devices, you should save them on a computer or device from which you can copy to the others. You should also ensure that you keep backups of your ebooks.

If you experience any difficulties downloading, please email us at sales@dseenterprises.org

Licenses and copyright

All of our publications are copyrighted and therefore protected under UK, European, US and International copyright laws and treaties.

Unless otherwise stated, our digital products are licensed for personal use. You may install them on multiple devices for your use, but you must not distribute copies for others to use.

Some products are offered with a Professional Licence that permits a teachers or therapist to provide copies or use them with multiple clients.
